Last week I made a little seasonal clear out in my closet. I needed to make some space for new pieces and also get rid of a lot of stuff I don’t wear and don’t like anymore. Since everything is still sorted and good looking I thought it could be cool if I take you through my closet for a short tour.
I have a room, in my house, where two walls are covered with the IKEA PAX closet system. I have four doors for my clothes, plus an additional space where I keep my winter jackets and another two doors for my shoes and handbags.
So starting from the very left there’s my favourite part. On the rail, I hang dresses, jumpsuits, blazers, and jackets. Everything is arranged according to the colour. My dresses are divided into two sections: everyday dresses and occasion wear, while my blazers are divided into wool blazers and lighter fabrics blazers.
Under I keep accessories: jewellery, sunglasses, belts, and scarfs.
Going further there’s my favourite drawer: the jeans drawer! I have a lot of jeans; I can’t stop myself from buying them. I love trying different washes, fits, and styles. I divided them by wash and then by style.
In the second drawer, I keep my trousers which are divided into occasion trousers, culottes, chinos and smart trousers.
The saddest section of all the closet is the skirt one. I don’t have that many skirts because I find them quite hard to style and not so flattering on me. I prefer wearing dresses because they’re easy and effortless. However, I need to experiment more in this field.
Then there’s an extractable shelf where I keep my summer shoes: sandals, wedges, and so on.
Moving on to the second part: on the rail, I have summer tops, then off the shoulder top and button up shirts. On the right, they’re my winter coats. As on the other side, everything is arranged by colour.
In the first two drawers, I keep knitwear: starting from chunky knit, moving on to lighter fabrics. In the third drawer, I keep t-shirts, some crop tops and thermals.
Then there’s this little place over here, where I keep puffer jackets, shearling jackets, and faux fur coats.
Last but not least there’s the shoe closet. On the upper part, I keep my handbags, backpacks and evening clutches. While in the lower part I keep my shoes: starting from sneakers, which are the most worn, moving on to loafers, kitten heels, ankle boots and, on the last rack I keep high heels.
Hope you enjoyed the tour!
